Our Civic Pride campaign celebrates civic activism. Over the years, this has taken many forms, but our motivation remains the same: to retrain our attention away from institutions and policymakers to civic actors who keep our democracies alive.
This year’s Civic Pride is envisaged as a month-long online campaign highlighting three of the biggest but also most heavily repressed movements of the last year: Palestine Solidarity, Climate Justice and Migrants’ Rights. The selection of these movements emerged from our Civic Space Report, which found persistent civic space restrictions against these movements in several member states.
